Winter Wonderland with Flo & Percy

Thursday, December 17th, 2009
I discovered Flo & Percy back in October and instantly fell in love so I keep tabs on their website for any new products. When I saw their Winter Wonderland collection I knew I just had to share with you.
Firstly I adore their new Feather headband as yet unnamed and unpriced, however it shows on the website and Brides can register their interest with them, it will be launched in January. It was inspired by the 1920s and swan lake ballerinas.

Another piece I also love is the White Queen comb.

Recently Flo & Percy were nominated for best hair accessory in Perfect Wedding Magazine awards.
Hmmmm now what excuse can I make in order to purchase the comb? To view more of Flo & Percy products visit their website.

A hidden artform

Alison Russell

Alison Russell

Over the years I have hired Alison Russell on many occasions to provide a silhouette service at my weddings. I find this romantic artform is perfect for the vintage and garden receptions I organise. I was delighted to find out Alison has a new website which includes a video clip on the home page of what she does, seeing is far easier then explaining!Guests receive their portrait in a special card that can also be custom printed to include specific details of the event such as the names of the wedding couple, date and venue details to create a perfectly personalised memento to take home and frame.

I love the way social media highlights fabulous suppliers and weddings from across the globe. It just proves that the world is getting smaller. Recently when on twitter I saw a post from weddingchicks saying ‘An event designer gets married and shares all the insider tips’, well of course I had to have a look being the curious type of girl I am!

The wedding was highlighted on the weddingchick website and featured the wedding of LA wedding planner Katy Carrier . I instantly fell in love with the wedding as I love outdoor events and especially love when green is used, if only I was a guest. Do pop on over to the weddingchick site to read more about Katy design tips (I especially love that she reused the RSVP stationery on her OOS), but in the meantime here are some images taken by Linda Chaja Photography to whet your appetite.

Glide hand in hand at Somerset House

Friday, December 4th, 2009

Whenever I see people ice-skate I sigh with jealousy because try as I might, I simply cannot skate, luckily my husband is just as bad as me so skating is banned in our house!

However, that doesnt mean the co-ordinated among you shouldnt enjoy the romance of skating hand in hand. If there is one venue this winter that sums up romance is has to be Somerset House in London.

This year Tiffany & Co are presenting the skating and so have taken part in the design and decor. Whilst there visit the Tiffany Tuck shop where jewellery, cupcakes and other treats are on offer.

Love quotations

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

“Today I begin to understand what love must be, if it exists. When we are parted, we each feel the lack of the other half of ourselves. We are incomplete like a book in two volumes of which the first has been lost. That is what I imagine love to be: incompleteness in absence.”

Edmond and Jules de Goncourt
