Glam rocks and purple frocks

Recently I came across a wonderful jewellery designer Jen Allen who owns Radiance Boutique . Her website is beautiful so do visit for a browse, not only can you see all the products available to buy you can see her design tips on her blog.

I therefore thought it would be great to ask her thoughts on colour trends for 2009. Here is what she said:

Fairytale wonderlands will enchant guests; 1920’s styling will add glamour, and rich purples and lavenders are set to seduce this year, as brides go vintage and get creative.

Trends for 2009 are simply stunning; we will see new waves of colour across wedding themes including purples, as well as grey complemented with brights such as pinks and yellows.  More so than ever, brides will be looking to make their wedding day as memorable and captivating as possible.

The trend for brights works perfectly for tropical theme weddings. Add a splash of pink, purple or aqua to your colour scheme and tie in with bridesmaids’ accessories that are equally bold and beautiful. The great thing about these colours is that you only need a little touch of each to make an impact.

With the fashion for purples, soft pinks, nudes and sophisticated greys for dresses this year in general we will see these colours filter to bridesmaids dresses.  Accessories that are contrastingly bright will add a really striking edge to the look.

This summer florals remain a key look.  The great thing about opting for this style is that you can add as little or as much as you like to really make the look your own.
