Disney Themed 21st Birthday Party in Surrey
When I was contacted by Jane to assist with her daughters Disney-themed 21st party, I knew we were destined to create magic together. Readers of my blog will know I love Disney and had the joy of revisiting Disney World this past Easter.
Jane had already booked most of the suppliers including the fantastic caterers Two Many Cooks, tents via House of Hud, photographer Julian Portch and DJ Alan Marshall but needed some assistance with finalising the logistics, hiring additional suppliers and design concept.
When I met Jane we bonded immediately, with some clients you just know you’re going to have a lot of fun and working with Jane was such a joy. The party was for her daughter who loves Disney, thus the fancy dress theme of Disney was created. The tents hired from House of Hud were loosely themed (Dining = Alice in Wonderland, Dancing = 101 Dalmatians, Bar/Chill Out = Aladdin)
I suggested we theme each table to a different Disney film, this made the tables incredibly interesting to look at and created a talking point on the day. We kept the table linen neutral and used the same place cards on each table to keep some continuity. Jane was very hands on making many items for the day and handwriting and printing the stationery. Once the initial mood board for each table was approved we started sourcing props for the table. I suggested we use the very talented Mary Jane Vaughn for the flowers who utterly embraced the theme and truly brought the design to life with her creations.
Two Many Cooks were a joy to work with, we used different coloured glasses depending on the table and they also created food that not only tasted delicious but was within the design. Their Alice in Wonderland treat table was fabulous.
The photographer used for the day was Julian Portch who created a lot of initial buzz on the red carpet encouraging guests in their catwalk moment. Later in the evening fun shots were taken in the mobile studio we created for him.
Before dancing the godparents gave an amazing speech, you could feel the love and respect they had for Chuffy. This was followed by Chuffy’s siblings and friends performing the Jungle Book’s hit song, “I want to be like you”- such fun to watch and it certainly ensured guests moved to the dance floor ready to dance all evening.
I was sad when the party was over. Jane and her family were an absolute joy to work with. Incredibly wonderful people and I feel privileged to have been a part of this party.

The pics made me really crack up! But loving the idea that you can have any themed party you want– made we wish my parents had organised one of those when I was a kid!
