Pre-Ceremony Bridesmaid Bonding

Picture the scene: bottles of champagne open, shoes scattered on the floor, makeup across the table and friends standing in their dressing gowns. No, we’re not talking girlfriends getting ready for a night out, but rather the bride and her bridesmaids before the ceremony.

This is such a special moment of laughter and bonding, the perfect way to truly relax prior to saying “I Do”. So how can you create the perfect environment to get ready in?

Firstly you need a large enough room! This could be a hotel suite, venue bedroom or even a living room if you’re getting ready at home. Think about who will be in the room with you, then add on the makeup artist(s), photographer, videographer and the odd person wandering through like the Father of the Bride and your trusted wedding planner. This room should have natural light for the makeup artist (and photographer), a full-length mirror and a few smaller ones so there are no quarrels on whose turn it is.

Ensure you have some morning snacks, keep this something easy to eat with fingers and not too messy. Have bottles of water or juice with straws so you’re not messing up your lipstick. But of course you’ll want some champagne as well, just don’t go crazy with the quantity as you want to be sober at your ceremony. Finally, create a girly playlist of songs to get everyone singing and energies high.

Oh, and you might want to purchase matching dressing gowns for those pre-ceremony photos 😉
