Sandals WeddingMoons® FAM Trip To Jamaica – Part 2
Continuing my report of the Sandals Familiarisation trip here is part 2:
Day 3 – 29th June
On Saturday we were up early for a seminar hosted by Marsha-Ann Brown. She is a very inspirational presenter and a pleasure to listen to. She took us through the process of organising a wedding at Sandals and how all the different departments work together to ensure the wedding is as perfect as the bride and groom want.
Sandals honestly do believe a couple should be able to personalise their wedding, have it custom built, not a package. Some of her talk was highlighting wedding statistics and discussing what the bride of today is like. As a wedding planner for 12 years, much of what she said I knew already, but, the upside is that I agreed with what she was saying and it just reiterated the fact that Marsha-Ann truly does ensure Sandals resorts are up to date with wedding trends as they happen.
After the training we were all presented with our certificates confirming we are now Sandals Certified WeddingMoons® Specialists.
Lunch consisted of more cocktails, more food, and the chance to see some of the possible table set ups. There was also the opportunity to sample the different wedding cake flavours, necessary for me to pass my wisdom onto future brides 😀
In the afternoon we made our way to the beach to witness a mock wedding ceremony, I loved this set up of the sea shells lining the aisle and bamboo parasols for guests to hold.
Our training for the day finished with Jeffrey Burke the sales manager for Sandals Whitehouse taking us on a tour of the resort facilities and viewing a broad selection of room categories available, including butler level suites.
That evening we dined together at Giuseppe’s, I think the antipasti bar would have been enough for many of us. Yet again the food was fresh and delicious.
Whitehouse Overview
I really enjoyed my time at the Whitehouse resort, the design of the resort is quite clever combining European architecture with a tropical beachfront setting. The three swimming pools all had a different feel to them, some more lively then others meaning you pick the pool to suit your mood. The staff were very attentive, if visiting make sure you ask to sample the mango daiquiri and the Bob Marley cocktail, both were superb. The atmosphere was relaxing and intimate, guests were quite happy mingling or keeping to themselves.
