Venue Focus: Boxted Hall
I’ve just discovered another wonderful venue called Boxted Hall which I’d love to share with you and will be adding to my list of recommended venues in Suffolk.
History
Boxted Hall is situated in the picturesque rural countryside of Suffolk, surrounded by 200 acres of parkland and woodland. The river Glem makes its way slowly behind the house through the walled gardens with listed summer houses.
Steeped in history, Boxted Hall lies in the heart of a valley and is a place to escape from the bustle of everyday life. The beautiful moated house has been in the ownership of one family since the 14th century and 24 generations of the Poley (circa 1773, Weller-Poley) family.
Church Ceremony
Boxted Hall also has its own 13th century church, The Holy Trinity.
It’s set on a hill, a stone’s throw away from the Hall and, after the ceremony, guests can take a short meander back to the manor house and soak up the gorgeous views across the valley.
It really would make such a beautiful and serene setting for your ceremony.
Wedding Reception
The moated manor house has been home to generations of the Poley family and with six reception rooms at your disposal, guests would be truly enchanted as they wander through the wood panelled hall to the beautiful library and drawing rooms. They can accommodate 84 seating for a 3 course wedding breakfast and 150 seating for the evening buffet guests.
Location
Set in the Suffolk countryside, Boxted seems a million miles away from the hustle and bustle but it’s conveniently just 90 minutes from London and 1 hours from Stansted airport.
Accommodation
Boxted Hall can accommodate up to 24 people. There are eight luxury en-suite bedrooms on the first floor and four additional twin rooms on the second floor.
Caterers
Boxted Hall use four regular caterers:-
Milsom Caterers
Whites Catering
House Caterer – David Tyler
Arabella Reeve Catering
