Venue Focus – Vaulty Manor
In the first of a new monthly series exploring the venues I have worked in around East Anglia we are starting with Vaulty Manor in Essex where I have worked on a number of weddings.
Description
16th Century Manor house with a renovated 17th century barn and new Baronial Hall surrounded by 12 acres of countryside, not a single neighbour in sight.
As you walk in the barn the bar is on the left (covered throughout ceremony).
Upstairs there is a gallery where the toilets are, on the gallery there is a piano at one end and soft seating on another.
Ceremonies take place in the listed barn for a maximum of 200, once the ceremony is finished you walk through to the restored barn with full length windows at the side and one end of the room with French doors leading onto the terrace. The room is very light and peaceful and overlooks cornfields. Recently they extended the hall allowing a sit down wedding breakfast for up to 250 guests; smaller weddings do not look lost as the room has a hidden and discreet wall thus reducing the size of the hall.
There is no hire charge but they do stipulate minimum numbers. A huge added bonus to Vaulty Manor is the exclusive accommodation on site for up to 80 guests. You are not required to book any of the rooms but having accommodation at stumbling distance for guests is normally appreciated!
