Wedding at Mark’s Hall | The Wedding of Stacey and Ryan
When I was contacted by Stacey to help organise her wedding to Ryan, I was doubly excited to help. Not only was I thrilled to design a beautiful romantic English wedding, but I was able to spend time with the hosts of the reception, the groom’s Dad and Step Mum, whose wedding I organised in 2007!
Atmosphere for the wedding
Family is very important to Stacey & Ryan and the wedding reflected this. They wanted everyone to feel relaxed and for the day to feel like a big garden party.
Ceremony
Stacey & Ryan were married at the beautiful Marks Hall. For a garden ceremony, the grounds are so pretty we decided we didn’t need any additional flowers for the ceremony location.
Drinks Reception
This was held in Ryan’s Dads garden. The garden was beautiful with extra special areas like the duck pond, gazebo and secret woodland. On the day the drinks were provided by Cellar 27 , who always thrill me with their drinks presentation for the adults and children as well. Kevin Fitzsimmons and his band happily performed in the garden gazebo during the drink reception, providing the perfect ambience.
I feel I need to mention how hot it was, an absolute scorcher of a day! But I was so proud of our suppliers that didn’t let this faze them with their professionalism. I even managed a cuddle with the youngest during the drinks reception.
Design
In my very first meeting with Stacey, she said she wanted to create a pretty romantic reception. The day needed to feel relaxed and blend well with the gorgeous garden. Jades Flower Design were hired to create an abundance of floral designs, my favourite was the growing plants for the sweetheart table. Each table was also slightly different according to the name of the table.
We chose the Roses and Peonies suite from HollyHock Lane for the stationery, this matched perfectly to our English summer theme. Instead of using white linen we selected a baby blue cloth that completely finished the design of the marquee.
We used Chelmer Marquees for the structure, plus used their floral patterned seat pads on the chairs, these were placed at random throughout so tables didn’t “match”. Floral chandeliers were hired into going between the crystal chandeliers in the ceiling.
Wedding Creative came in to provide all lighting on the day and also created a pretty backdrop for the sweetheart top table. At night the gazebo was lit with a crystal chandelier and the woodland area had festoon lighting leading to a children’s hidden tipi. I love when a different atmosphere is created with lighting through the day and night.
To End
My team had such a wonderful time working with Stacey, both before and on the actual day itself. Without exaggeration, every single guest was a pleasure to meet. And of course, I also loved seeing some familiar faces from Zoe and Jasons wedding nearly 10 years ago.
Big thank you to Paul from Contre Jour for capturing these beautiful images on the day.
